With a cloud model your prompt travels through EchoChat to an outside provider, where the model actually runs. A local model runs somewhere you trust instead: on EchoChat's shared EU server, or on a private server in your own office. Flip the switch to see where the model lives.

Aligned with the GDPR

Retention controls
Admins set how long chats and files are kept, including separate rules for incognito sessions. Defaults are conservative. Data that is not there cannot be breached.
Data minimisation
EchoChat stores only what your team actively needs. With Zero Data Retention on, even temporary provider copies are deleted the moment inference completes.
Access logs
Every read of a shared chat or project is logged. Admins can export full audit trails for compliance reporting or internal review.
Right to deletion
On request we delete your account and all associated data. Deletions propagate fully within 30 days, including backups.
